Saturday January 22: The Green Timbers Greenway

Green Timbers Greenway walk
Let’s explore the part of the Green Timbers Greenway that runs through the urban forest. Starting from the Surrey Nature Centre we’ll follow Green Timbers Way to 140th, walk down to where the Greenway starts, then walk along the paved path to 140th. We can then circle back along the Cedar Trail/96th to where we started. This should be about 2.5 miles/5 km. We’ll pick up any garbage along the way, take pictures, and discuss whatever comes to mind! Socially responsible vis-a-vis covid. Be safe everyone!
Saturday January 29: The English Oaks Grove

- Distance: to be determined, but be prepared for about 2 km, not all on pathways or sidewalks.
English Oaks Grove walk
We’ll venture off the beaten path, and far from the madding crowd (catch the reference?). Starting from the Surrey Nature Centre we’ll head to the English Oaks Grove, planted in the 1930s along an old logging railway, next to the burbling Quibble Creek.
We’ll do a bit of garbage pickup along the way.
